Mokokchung fire: Advisor Imtikumzuk, NDPP give financial aid to affected families

Mokokchung, Sep. 18 (EMN): Some members of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) of 26 Aonglenden assembly constituency visited the areas affected by the twin fire tragedies in Mokokchung town recently. A statement from the party on Tuesday informed that the office-bearers of 26 Aonglenden AC and N Akok Longkumer, PS to Imtikumzuk, advisor to Sericulture and Excise, visited the affected areas at Sangtemla and Marepkong wards and expressed solidarity with the affected families. It added that they also donated money to the fire victims. The party workers have also appealed the district administration to provide emergency relief assistance to the affected people at the earliest and to start assessing the ground realities for further necessary actions. Eight families were rendered homeless in the twin fire incidents which happened on last Sunday night and Monday evening. The three wards: Sangtemla, Arkong and Marepkong fall under 26 Aonglenden AC and Imtikumzuk is the incumbent elected representative. Ao Senden appeals Ao Senden, the apex organisation of the Ao community, on Tue. appealed the district administration to dispense all possible and necessary help to the victims of the fire incidents at Mokokchung town. The Ao Senden also expressed its heartfelt solidarity with the victims. More than seven houses were razed to the ground in separate fire incidents at different localities in Mokokchung town on Sunday and Monday evening.
