Mokokchung, Oct. 26 (EMN): The Fair Price Shop Dealers Association of Mokokchung (FPSDAM) has appealed for ‘re-reimbursement’ for service charges from the government / department of Food and Civil Supplies.
A press release from the association signed by Lanumeren, general secretary, stated that the group has resolved to appeal to the government and the department in concern for ‘reimbursement of transportation, loading and unloading charges and handling commission at the earliest as per a government directive dated 02/06/2016.’
The release stated that even after 15 months of ‘waiting patiently,’ the government had not paid the dues as declared in the order.
This inaction on the part of the government has had an ‘adverse’ impact on fair price shop dealers, and ‘making it difficult to run normal business,’ the group claimed.
The association has cautioned that should the government fail to reimburse the charges by the 10th of November this year, the association has already resolved to take an own course of action and that the ‘association will not be held responsible for any untoward incident.’
Further, the association has requested the government to update the ‘status of sugar’ in Mokokchung district and to clarify whether the supply of sugar from the centre had ceased. The government is asked to make known the reason for the unavailability of sugar in the district.
