The Mokokchung DPDB approved three societies, reviewed major development projects, cleared LADP 2026-27 schemes, and discussed disaster preparedness and Independence Day arrangements.
DIMAPUR — The monthly meeting of the Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) was held on July 30 at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner's office.
According to a DIPR report, the meeting was chaired by Minister for Rural Development and SIRD, Metsubo Jamir, who is also the chairman of the DPDB Mokokchung.
The meeting began with a review of the minutes of the previous meeting, followed by discussions on the Action Taken Report.
The board approved the registration of three societies — Life Anew Foundation, Unger Village; Mokokchung District Disabled Association; and Langpangkong Development Board, Chuchuyimlang.
Members also deliberated on several key developmental issues, including incomplete centrally and state-sponsored departmental projects, construction of welcome gates at the Tsutapela and Tuli state borders, and the progress of the Nagaland Special Development Zone (NSDZ).
The board reviewed the status of the Circuit House in Mokokchung and assessed the implementation of LADP Iconic Projects from 2019-20 to 2025-26. It also approved the LADP schemes for 2026-27.

Other issues discussed included financial assistance for the Dr T Ao Inter-District Football Tournament Silver Jubilee 2026, the district's disaster preparedness status, and funds collected under the Nikshay Mitras initiative of the TB Mukt Bharat programme. Responsibilities for the Independence Day celebrations on August 15 were also finalised.
During the meeting, the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) made a PowerPoint presentation highlighting its ongoing activities and community development initiatives.
The meeting was attended by Advisor for Information & Public Relations (IPR) and Soil & Water Conservation, Daochier I Imchen.
It concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Deputy Commissioner and vice chairman of DPDB Mokokchung, Ajit Kumar Verma.
