Dimapur, June 6 (EMN): The monthly meeting of the Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) for the month of June was held with new DPDB chairman Merentoshiat presideing over the event in the Conference Hall of the ADC (Planning) on June 6.
Parliamentary Secretary AmenbaYaden and Parliamentary Secretary Dr Benjongliba also attended the meeting.
In his first address as the chairman of the board, Merentoshi thanked the government and the legislators from Mokokchung district for reposing their confidence on him to lead the DPDB as the chairman and reciprocated that he would give his best to deliver service to the people.
He informed the members that he would visit offices in Mokokchung town as well as in the sub divisions and interact with officers to acquaint with the activities of the various departments. The new Chairman in his address also insisted on maintaining punctuality in offices.
The vice chairman of the DPDB, Sushil Kumar Patel, also deputy commissioner, welcomed the new chairman and assured on maintaining punctuality in the offices. He also shared his expectations to get further improvement in the activities of the DPDB under the new chairman.
AmenbaYaden expressed hoped that the Mokokchung, DPDB, one the most important body in decision making in the district would see difference in delivering service to the people under the new Chairman.
Parliamentary Secretary in-charge of CAWD, Dr. Benjongliba, informed the members that the people of Mokokchung district would soon have a new Deputy Commissioner’s Complex. He apprised of the efforts taken to get fund for the construction soon completion of the same. He also informed the members that the much talked about Goods and Services Tax (GST),which will be implemented from 1st July, 2017 will benefit and improve the tax regime in the state.
During discussions, the ADC of Mokokchung, Sachin Jaiswal highlighted the implementation ofAtal Pension Yojana and the appointments with regard to CSS/flagship programmes in the state. He pointed that Atal Pension Yojana which is meant to cover those workers under un-organised sectors will also cover those casuals and work-charged employees.
The house approved and forwarded the registration of the Young Women Christian Association of Mokokchung to the department in concern.
