Mokokchung District Taekwondo Association felicitates 14 participants who won medals at the state championship.
DIMAPUR — The Mokokchung District Taekwondo Association (MDTA) held a felicitation programme on Tuesday to honour participants who represented the district at the recently held 36th Kyorugi & 1st Poomsae Nagaland State Taekwondo Championship-cum-Under-14 Catch Them Young Tournament in Kohima.
According to an update, altogether 14 participants won one gold, five silver and eight bronze medals in different categories.
In the Kyorugi discipline, Odimeren won gold, while Temsujung, Ligo Pinggam, Imtisungit and Amir Das won silver medals. Sangtsu, Mongshai, Limatoshi, Thangjemhaubou, Vincent Yanthan, Merentemjen, Tirjung and Aarush Y Patil won bronze medals. Sangtsu also won a silver medal in the Poomsae discipline.
During the felicitation programme held at the MDTA Treasurer’s residence, President Supongwati Jamir formally handed over certificates and medals along with cash incentives to the successful participants.
MDTA Executive Member Chubameren, while delivering a short message, praised the Mokokchung taekwondo team for successfully representing the district and bringing laurels to the association and Mokokchung. He further encouraged the young players to aspire for greater success in the days to come and assured them that the association would do its best to promote them.
