The third Mokokchung District Inter-Departmental Sports Meet began with diverse sporting events to foster unity and team spirit among departments.

MOKOKCHUNG — The third edition of the Mokokchung District Inter-Departmental Sports Meet commenced at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex on Saturday.
The three-day event features competitions in badminton, table tennis, carrom, chess, futsal, arm wrestling, penalty shootouts, and athletics, with participation from various departments across the district.
The formal inauguration was held at the Multi-Purpose Sports Stadium with Ajit Kumar Verma, deputy commissioner of Mokokchung, as the special guest.

In his welcome address, Verma highlighted the event’s role in bringing together government employees from diverse departments on a common platform to foster team spirit and improve inter-departmental coordination.
"Such gatherings not only promote physical and mental well-being by striking a balance between work and leisure but also instill a culture of healthy living," the DC added.
He extended heartfelt appreciation to the organising committee for their meticulous efforts in bringing the meet to life.
The athletes' oath was administered by District Sports Officer Zhopovi Zecho.
