Mokokchung, July 6 (EMN): The 32nd edition of Mokokchung District Badminton Open Championship 2018 got underway at the Indoor Badminton Stadium, Mokokchung on Friday, July 6.
118 players including veterans, juniors and seniors players will be participating in the two-day tourney under the categories of U-9 boys single; U-11 boys single; U-11 girls single; U-13 boys single and double, U-13 girls single: U-15 boys single; U-15 girls single; U-17 boys single , 35 plus veterans and 40 plus veterans.
The organiser- Mokokchung District Badminton Association (MDBA) have also introduced round robin matches for U-19 girls single, U-17 girls single; junior girls single, men’s double, 45 plus doubles and 50 plus doubles.
Earlier, at the inaugural programme Toshi Sanglir, Youth Secretary ABAM delivered the exhortation. He underscored that building up the physical body to perform better in sports is not important but the foundation of their sports career should start by embracing discipline, fair play and perseverance to perform better tomorrow.
