61 players to undergo intensive coaching and screening for inter-district state open championship

Mokochung, July 7 (EMN): The 32nd Mokokchung District Badminton Open Championship culminated at the Indoor badminton Stadium, Mokokchung on Saturday evening.
The two-day tourney organised by the Mokokchung District Badminton Association (MDBA) witnessed many impressive matches between talented players in 18 categories.
In the final matches: U-9 boys single: Imchalong beat Aowalu; U-11 boys single: Sentiyatet beat Imsujong; U-11 girls single: Imsusenla beat N Jumkaro; U-13 boys single: Kinren beat Tinurenba , U-13 boys doubles: The pair of Kinren and Longchatongba beat Pursungit and Tinurenba, U-13 girls single: Imlikumla beat Repatula, U-15 boys single: Sentisang beat Wapangmeren; U-15 boys doubles: Wapangmeren A Jamir and Deepish beat Limasunep and Sentisang; U-15-girls single: Yalimenla beat Imlikumla; U-17 boys single: Imlimanen beat Imtitong, U-17 girls Imnuksangla beat Putusenla, U-19 boys single: Kilangkumba beat Lanuakum, U-19 girls single: Imnuksangla beat Tiatula.
In senior boys doubles: Imliakum and N Nochet beat Imomar and Dr Sashi; 35 plus veteran doubles: Er Toshi and Sendongyanger beat Sashiwapang and Temsuyanger, 40 plus veteran doubles: Sashi and Yanger beat Sanen and Tia Mollier, 45 plus veteran doubles: Imosanen and Arentemsu beat Moalemba and S Bendang and lastly in 50 plus veteran doubles: Bendang Jamir and Tiapokba beat S Bendang and Moalemba.
MDBA selected 37 boys and 24 girls to undergo intensive coaching camp from July 9 till August 4. MDBA president Er Toshikaba informed that the coaching included the screening of players to participate in the forthcoming 42nd Inter-District State Open Championship organised by Nagaland Badminton Association which is scheduled to be held at Pfutsero, Phek from August 6 till the 11th.
Earlier, the closing ceremony was graced by Mokokchung Deputy Commissioner Sachin Jaiswal as the special invitee. Jaiswal who is the chairman of the Mokokchung District Sports Council (MDSC) congratulated the MDBA for their effort to promote badminton in the district.
He also appreciated the zeal and determination displayed by the young players throughout the tourney and urged them to excel in their skills in every capacity. He also gave away the prizes to the winners of various categories.
