MOKOKCHUNG — The Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) on Thursday issued a public advisory for general information of traders, business owners, and residents of Mokokchung.
In the advisory, the MCCI informed that the sale of calendars, concert tickets, raffle or lottery tickets, buffet coupons, tambola slips, and similar items to traders or shopkeepers in the market is strictly prohibited.
The trade body cautioned that any individual or group coercing business owners to purchase such items would be treated as engaging in extortion and dealt with accordingly.

Stall owners, participants, and organisers of the upcoming Winter Night Carnival have been advised to respect the interests of established business owners in the vicinity, maintain cleanliness, and adhere to hygienic practices.
The advisory also reiterated that the forcible collection of donations within Mokokchung town is strictly forbidden. MMCI warned that any person or group—including functionaries of Naga political groups—found extorting or violating the rights and welfare of the business community will face stern action.
Additionally, the transportation, storage, sale, or bursting of unregulated firecrackers without prior permission from the competent authority is prohibited. The MCCI stated that any members of the business community engaged in such activities will be penalised as per law.
Further, it urged traders to refrain from unethical business practices and to keep the parking spaces in front of their establishments free for customers, noting that blocking these areas with personal vehicles causes unnecessary inconvenience.
Meanwhile, extending festive greetings, the MCCI encouraged the residents of Mokokchung to celebrate the season responsibly and in the spirit of community harmony.
