Dimapur, May 10 (EMN): The meeting of the Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board for the month of May was conducted on May 9 in Mokokchung. The deputy commissioner, also vice chairman of the board, Sushil Kumar Patel was the chairman of the meeting, the IPR informed during the week’s updates.
The Officers’ Club of Mokokchung felicitated two toppers of the High School Leaving Certificate board from Mokokchung district.
The two toppers are Nokinsangla T Imchen, 14th position, from Edith Douglas Higher Secondary School; and Okten Jamir, 20th position, from Queen Mary Higher Secondary School.
The toppers were awarded citation and cash, which were handed over to them by the deputy commissioner.
Also, the officials of the board discussed pensioners in the district who could not present themselves for verification “as well as drawing money due to old age and ailment,” the IPR reported. It was decided that such cases would be listed in coordination with the departments and bank in concern.
The deputy commissioner has asked the chief manager of Mokokchung’s SBI branch to submit a list of names of officials from which a manager would be appointed to verify said cases once in a year. That way, pensioners who could not come to the office for verification can continue to withdraw their pension.
The board also discussed matter concerning registration of societies. Two organisations namely Anava Welfare Society of Kitchutip Ward in Mokokchung and Mokokchung Lotha Hoho were ‘forwarded for registration,’ the IPR added.
