KOHIMA — Mokokchung entered the semi-finals of the ongoing Dr. T Ao Trophy after defeating Peren in the quarter-final match on Tuesday at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.
In the first quarter-final match of the day between Mokokchung and Peren, the game lasted 105 minutes and ended in a 2-2 draw. Mokokchung secured victory in the penalty shootout with a 5-4 score, setting up a semi-final clash with Mon.
Peren took the lead in the 32nd minute with a goal by Nrakhak. Mokokchung equalised just before halftime through Tongpangnokdang’s goal in the 45+4 minute.

In the second half, Nrakhak scored his second goal in the 50th minute for Peren, but Takotuba levelled the score for Mokokchung in the 64th minute. Extra time saw no change in the scoreline, leading to a penalty shootout in which Mokokchung converted all five shots, while Peren missed one.
The second quarter-final match between Kohima and Wokha was postponed due to bad weather. The game, tied at 1-1, will resume on Wednesday at 8:30 am.
Mhabemo Kikon scored for Wokha in the 20th minute, while Kevizakie equalised for Kohima in the 72nd minute. The result will determine which team faces Niuland in the semi-final scheduled for Wednesday at 6 pm.
