Dimapur, June 9: Modern College of Teacher Institute staged an Ensemble Performance on ‘Say No Tobacco – Live healthy’ at the college auditorium.
It was collaborated with Doordarshan and Tobacco Control Programme(NTCP) under the Department of health and family welfare.
The performance was directed by Temjenzunba Kechu, Theatre director/Actor and a post graduate from National School of Drama with specialization with in Theatre Techniques and design. The performance was collaborated with Nagaland Street Art, K Cynthia Kolkhe, Muzung Yimchunger, Imjung Longshiri and Louis Chhetri in costume, make up, property, body art and visuals. The performance was developed as part of the drama and art in education curriculum. In this class the students transform the classroom into a creative and dramatize curriculum. The students also analyze various pressing social issues and conceptualize the performance on anti-tobacco. The Modern College is also declared as one of the tobacco free campus in Nagaland.
The performance enact the effect and cause tobacco through the group ensemble and challenge the audience for a healthy life. It also portrays that people have become a passive listener and act so ignored about the deadly affects.
