Dimapur, Sep. 15 (EMN): The 20th annual sports meet of Modern College Kohima culminated on Friday, Sep. 15 at Seikhazou ground informed a press note. The sports meet was held from Sep. 13 to 15.
The day’s proceedings began with an invocation followed by the hoisting of flag by the Chief Guest, Rajesh Soundarajan, DC Kohima. In his welcome address, Dr. H.P Singh principal Modern College Kohima, motivated and encouraged the students to exhibit true sportsman spirit during the events. The chief guest encouraged the students to break the myth of stereotypes and take interest in sports to enhance discipline, perseverance and personality. Neikethozo Tepa, games and sports secretary administered the oath to the house captains’ viz. Young Challengers, Gladiators, Modern Warriors, and GG (Good Games).
The events included Basketball, Football, Volleyball, athletics, Arm wrestling, and Tug of war.
A friendly exhibition match and football match was played between the faculties and the students.
The three days sports came to an end with the Gladiator’s house emerging as the champion house.
