District Disaster Management Authority Chümoukedima to conduct mock disaster management exercise on February 23 and 24 to test preparedness.

DIMAPUR — The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Chümoukedima, has announced that a mock disaster management exercise is scheduled to be conducted in Chümoukedima on February 23 and 24, as part of preparedness activities for the year 2025–26.
Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of DDMA Chümoukedima, Polan John, noted that the exercise has been rescheduled and will be carried out in two phases.
According to a DIPR report, a table-top exercise will be held on February 23 at 11:00 am at the DC Office Conference Hall, followed by the main mock exercise on February 24 at 11:00 am at the Chümoukedima Village Ground.

The mock drill aims to strengthen inter-departmental coordination, assess emergency response mechanisms, and enhance community preparedness during disaster situations. Various line departments such as security forces, health officials, and village authorities have been directed to participate actively in the mock exercise.
The deputy commissioner has urged all concerned departments and agencies to extend full cooperation to ensure the smooth and effective conduct of the mock exercise.
