Moakumzuk from Mopungchuket Village of Mokokchung district emerged as the winner of Mr Nagaland (body building) 2018 out of 28 participants.
The second edition of Mr Nagaland 2018 featuring the first edition of Men's Physique was held at the State Academy Hall in Kohima on Nov. 29. The event was organised by the Nagaland Body Building & Fitness Association (NBBFA).
The 31 year-old Moakumzuk was awarded with a cash prize of INR. 30,000 along with the trophy. Temjennukshi Jamir was adjudged winner of the Men's physique.
President NBBFA C Mayang Longchar in his keynote address spoke on the objective of the event. He said that the main idea was to create social awareness about living a healthy life by working out on a regular basis.
The guest speaker of the evening, Zale Neikha, Advisor of Youth & Sports encouraged the Naga youths to focus on weightlifting as there is a " fair scope" in the area. He also spoke about the importance of health and said that 'health is the most valuable and precious thing for every individual.'
It may be mentioned that the contest for Mr Nagaland 2018 was divided into three categories including 60 kg, 65 kg, and 75 kg, where, three winners each were entitled. The evening also witnessed performance by a former body builder, Chuba CJ and an 'on ramp' by Marina Kiho, Miss Nagaland 2017.
