Dimapur, June 8 (EMN): The Manipur Mountaineering and Trekking Association (MMTA) through its Honorary Secretary Y. Surchand Singh on Thursday issued a clarification that the “Mission Clean Dzukou” programme was not to claim the land ownership of Dzukou.
‘The said trekking programme was not for claiming the Dzukou land ownership.’ As I am promoting adventure related activities, we planned to visit Dzukou along with nature lovers, as also to bring good relationships with NAAME and neighbouring state (Nagaland)’, the release stated.
‘So, we the team of 62 members led by me, Yenkhom Surchand Singh – Honarary Secretary MMTA & Chairman NEZSCC went to Dzukou to witness the beauty of Nature.
We left Dzokou valley on 6th June 2017’.
‘On the same day while returning back, we met Sir Zakie Tsükrü, Vice President Southern Angami Youth Organisation’.
‘Following an interaction with him, all the trekkers from Manipur came to understand that Dzukou valley traditionally belongs to the Southern Angamis’, the release stated.
