MLA P Longon addresses second day of 63rd general session of the Khiamniungan Students’ Union.

DIMAPUR — Legislator and chairman of the District Planning and Development Board (DPDP) Noklak, P Longon addressed the second day of the 63rd general session of the Khiamniungan Students’ Union (KSU) as the special guest.
The KSU general session commenced on January 7 at Sanglao village, Noklak district, a DIPR report stated.
Speaking on the session’s theme, ‘Transcending challenges, building a shared future,’ the special guest reminisced about his long-standing association with the KSU.
Comparing past sessions to the present gathering, Longon noted a transformative shift in the student community. He lauded the significant increase in student numbers and expressed admiration for the “smartness” of the modern generation, specifically pointing to their refined communication skills and sophisticated outlook.
“The strength of the students has not only grown in numbers but in quality,” he remarked, noting that the way today’s youth carry themselves reflects the rapid progress the Khiamniungan community is making.

Emphasising the core of the session’s theme, the speaker challenged the students to move beyond their comfort zones. He asserted that true success is a byproduct of facing and overcoming difficulties.
“In life, good things happen only when we take up challenges,” he stated, urging the delegates to work with earnestness and sincerity in their respective fields of study and labour.
The MLA concluded his speech by grounding the students' aspirations in faith. He reminded the youth that academic and professional brilliance must be balanced with spiritual maturity.
Longon them to “fear God and seek His wisdom,” maintaining that divine guidance is the ultimate prerequisite for a successful and meaningful life.
The programme also included prelude by runner up of ENSF cultural fiesta 2025, speeches by presidents of KSU, Khiamniungan Tribal Council (KTC) and ENSF, and a presentation by Thang Students' Union and Hoi-ie-tsui by Sanglao Students' Union.
