
Dr. Sukhato A Sema inaugurating the multipurpose building
for Asukiqa area on Friday.
- DIMAPUR — Member
of Nagaland Legislative Assembly (MLA), Dr. Sukhato A Sema, on Friday
inaugurated two newly constructed cement concrete roads in Tsaphimi and Ghokimi
villages under Asukiqa area in Pughoboto sub-division of Zunheboto district.
- The project was funded through the MLA Local Area
Development Fund (LADF) 2024-25.
- Additionally, the MLA inaugurated a multipurpose building
for the Asukiqa area, aimed at serving as a community centre for various
activities and programmes. The multipurpose building was funded under SASCI
Scheme (Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment) through Youth
Resource and Sports Department, stated an update from MLA.
- Addressing the gathering, Dr. Sema emphasised the importance
of proper utilisation and maintenance of the newly developed infrastructure. He
encouraged the public to take collective responsibility for preserving those
public assets to ensure long-term benefits for the community.
- Dr. Sema also highlighted the importance of government
schools and primary healthcare centres in the area. He urged the public to make
full use of the available educational facilities, emphasising that quality
education is key to the development of the community.
- He further encouraged parents and stakeholders to support
the government schools and take an active role in fostering a better learning
environment for children. In conclusion, Dr. Sema thanked Nagaland Chief
Minister, Niephu Rio, for his support to the people of Pughoboto.
- The inauguration programme was attended by ADC of Pughoboto,
executive engineer of PWD Pughoboto, GBs, representatives from Asukiqa Area
Joint Council, Asukiqa Area Peoples’ Forum, church leaders and from various
civil society organisations.
- Meanwhile, the community leaders have expressed gratitude to
the MLA for his continued efforts in improving infrastructure and addressing
the needs of the area.
- The event concluded with a note of appreciation from local
leaders, who welcomed the developmental initiatives and assured their
commitment to maintaining the newly inaugurated projects for the benefit of
future generations.
