Dimapur, March 27 (EMN): Naga People’s Front (NPF) legislator CL John, who was spared from being served with a show cause notice for rebelling against the party, came out in the open on Wednesday and once again declared his support to People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) government.
The NPF had issued show cause notice to six of its seven legislators for declaring support to the ruling PDA government and sought to submit their replies before April 2. John was not served with the notice as his signature was missing in Monday’s joint statement by the rebel legislators.
However, John declared his support for PDA government in a separate statement on Wednesday. He announced that he “would like to declare that I appreciate all the developmental and progressive initiatives that have been undertaken till date by the PDA Government under the leadership of Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri Neiphiu Rio and Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister Shri Y. Patton.
“Ever since the PDA coalition was sworn in on 8th March 2018 to run the affairs of Nagaland, positive changes and restoration of the system of good governance has been witnessed which is in the greater interest of the people of Nagaland. I look forward to an era of stability with visionary and decisive leadership which is the need of the hour in Nagaland to facilitate the much-needed all-round development,” read the statement.
“I further extend my fullest cooperation to the PDA Government and also endorse the PDA Government's stand as a facilitator to the ongoing Indo-Naga peace process for an early, honourable and inclusive political solution.
“Moreover, the absence of an NPF candidate in the Lok Sabha Elections 2019 and the decision to support the Congress is against the principle of regionalism and this development has necessitated my decision to extend cooperation and support to the PDA consensus candidate and the PDA Government,” read the statement.
