Dimapur, July 19 (EMN): Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from 13 Pughoboto AC, Y Vikheho Swu, has urged the school management boards to identify the problems faced by schools, students, and teachers and place them before the appropriate authority for redressal.
Vikheho stated this in a meeting with the school management board members and teachers during his visit to Ghathashi Government High School under Pughoboto sub-division on July 19. Pughoboto sub-division has eight Government High Schools.
In his address, Vikheho urged the teachers to instill the values of respect, responsibility, accountability, commitment, punctuality, and honesty among the students apart from the prescribed syllabus.
Since Ghathashi Government High School is lacking in Mathematics teacher, the MLA agreed to engage a private teacher and bore the salary personally till the time the State government appoints one. He also agreed to hold an interaction with the students in his next visit to the school.
Few teachers expressed their dissatisfaction on shortage of teachers. They appealed the MLA to look into the matter at the earliest.
During the meeting EAC Ghathashi, Nuhuta Tungi, who also chaired the programme, said that education is the most important aspect in the society. He asked the management board and teachers to be more committed, dedicated and to utilised the available resources for the improvement of schools in the sub-division.
