BN Mullik Memorial All India Police Football Championship
DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 10: Mizoram Police outclassed Nagaland Police 2-0 in their last league encounter in Group D of the 65th BN Mullik All India Police Football Championship 2016 here at Police Complex, Chumukedima on Thursday.
The match drew the biggest crowd attendance so far in the tournament. Even with this loss, Nagaland still tops the Group so far with three wins out of four matches they have played. They will have to wait for the results of the remaining matches of Mizoram Police and RPF in the Group D. Both RPF and Mizoram Police still, have two league matches remaining to vie for a qualifier to the knockout stages. While Uttarakhand Police with a 1-0 win over defending champions Punjab Police, tops the standings in Group A and entered the knockout stage of the Championship. The topper from each group will qualify for the quarter-finals stage. Punjab Police will meet the winner of Group E in the quarter-finals.
In Group B, Border Security Force defeated Indo Tibetan Border Police 4-1, while SSB completely dominated over Rajasthan blanking their opponent 7-0 in Group C. Central Reserve Police Force blanked Haryana Police 8-0 in another Group E encounter and Himachal Pradesh Police in Group F prevailed over Telangana Police 3-0. Kerala Police had an easy win against Puducherry Police scoring four goals to none. In the last Group H, Jharkhand Police clinched victory over Goa Police 2-1.
