District programme officer, Wokha, Bonathung Ngullie, highlighted the launch of the Adolescent Girls Club newsletter, which was formally introduced during the meeting.
The newsletter aims to identify and showcase academic excellence, co-curricular and extracurricular achievements among girl students of the district.
It will feature students’ creative works including essays, poems, stories, drawings, and photographs, thereby fostering communication, community spirit, and celebrating creativity.
The newsletter is expected to bring several benefits, improved communication and transparency, keeping students and parents informed about upcoming events and school activities; building self-confidence and unity among girl students; motivating positive behaviours and promoting writing and communication skills; supporting learning beyond the classroom; and reinforcing trust between students, teachers, and the school community.
“BBBP Mission Shakti Wokha is set to lead this innovative initiative, strengthening relationships between schools, students, and parents, while helping the girl child identify her strengths and aspirations,” the report stated.
The meeting reaffirmed the district’s commitment to advancing the objectives of Mission Shakti and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, with a focus on holistic empowerment of women and girls through education, health, safety, and community participation.
