Dimapur, July 5: The meeting of the Dimapur District Task Force on Mission Indradhanush Phase-3 (fourth round) and Intensified Diarrhea Control Fortnight was held at the DC’s conference hall in Dimapur town on July 5.
Dr. Lanuakum, DPO (UIP/RCH) gave a comprehensive study presentation on 1st, 2nd and 3rd Rounds 2016 coverage. A total of 1414 children were immunized and 92 pregnant women were immunized during the 3rd Round during Mission Indradhanush. He also presented the Block wise performance status. He informed the members that coverage has improved during the 3rd Round.
Dr. Lanuakum also briefed the members on the upcoming Intensified Diarrhea Control Fortnight (IDCF) and presented the core elements of IDCF and week wise pre-planning activities for IDCF.
The deputy commissioner of Dimapur Kesoyu Yhome, also the chairman of the District Task Force, presided over the meeting.Dr. Antoly Suu, deputy chief medical officer gave the closing remarks. She appreciated the support of various stakeholders. She stated that without the participation of the stakeholders, improvement in the health sector was possible and hopes that the Health Department will get such supports from all the stakeholders in all the health program activities.
Mission Indradhanush was launched by Union Health Minister J.P Nadda on 25 December 2014.
It aims to immunize all children against seven vaccine preventable diseases namely diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, polio, tuberculosis, measles and hepatitis B by 2020.
In addition to this, vaccines for Japanese Encephalitis and Haemophilus influenzae type B (HIB) are also being provided in selected states.
