- MOKOKCHUNG — After
a three-year hiatus, Miss Mokokchung 2025, is all set to reclaim its place as
the premier public event in Mokokchung, powered by Forerunners Mokokchung under
the aegis of the Mokokchung District Art & Culture Council (MDACC).
- The grand finale is scheduled to be held on July 25 with
theme ‘Beyond Beauty’ with a special focus on special education and to uplift
children with special needs.
- The announcement was made during an offline audition held on
Saturday at El-Dora Hotel, where four esteemed judges Sashila Nathan, Jentiren
Jamir, Sentiyapang, and Imnuksungla evaluated offline aspiring contestants for
the pageant.

- Forerunners Mokokchung revealed plans for an online audition
scheduled to be held early next week to accommodate talented Mokokchung
citizens pursuing education or careers outside the district. Interested
candidates with a minimum height of 5.3 feet tall and aged 18-25, can find more
details on Forerunners’ Instagram page, said Sashila Nathan, a patron of the organisation.

- “We want our queens to advocate for children facing learning
difficulties, especially post-Covid and promote the status of children with
special needs, through seminars, workshops, and collaborative efforts,” a
Forerunners spokesperson stated.
- The winners will serve as MDACC brand ambassadors, promoting
social causes during their reign.
- One of the officials reflected on Mokokchung’s pageant
legacy. He said 2012 was the only year a Mokokchung contestant won the Miss
Nagaland title. “We’re determined to send strong contenders to reclaim that
crown,” he said, expressing confidence in the team’s efforts.
- The 2025 edition is packed with exciting features: special
appearances of reigning Femina Miss India Manipur and Kerala; Tribute Runway- a
nostalgic showcase featuring all Miss Mokokchung titleholders since 1992,
alongside Miss Nagaland winners from the Ao tribe.
- Professional grooming where contestants will be trained by
experts from Talent Foresight, Kohima, known for their pageantry expertise and
acclaimed Shillong-based fashion designer HM, known for crafting Northeast
India’s finest pageantry gowns, to sponsor the contestants’ evening wear.
