DIMAPUR — An informal meeting was held on
Thursday between the Centre’s representative for Indo-Naga talks, AK Mishra,
and the NSCN (IM)’s chief negotiator, Th Muivah, at the latter’s residence in
Wungram colony, Dimapur.
A source informed that Muivah was accompanied by senior NSCN
(IM) leader VS Atem. The meeting was ‘brief and informal since Mishra had a
flight scheduled to depart from Dimapur today,’ the source said.
Officially, Mishra was in Dimapur leading the central team
that had participated in the tripartite talks on the Frontier Nagaland
Territory issue.
On January 13, the NSCN (IM) issued its latest edition of
‘Nagalim Voice,’ the group’s bi-monthly mouthpiece. In its editorial column,
the group called out what it said was the Centre’s political hypocrisy.
“There is lying, lack of sincerity, self-deception, double
standards, and lack of integrity or weakness of political will,” it stated.
According to the group’s mouthpiece, ‘hypocrisy’ represents
India, while ‘truth’ represents the NSCN (IM).
It went on to suggest that this “political hypocrisy”
practiced by the government of India has compelled the NSCN (IM) to opt for an
alternative “exigent arrangement,” forcing it to “look for help beyond the
border.”
It claimed that the Centre had spent millions to sponsor the
birth of factions, “placing them within their ambit to force wicked political
equation to target NSCN.”
“This is the crux of today’s messy situation created by
India. The taint of hypocrisy blocked the way for the Naga people to trust the
government of India, as the two-faced interlocutor representing India is the
master of deceit and deception with divisive approach to Naga political
solution,” it stated.
