Minor girl killed in hit-and-run case

KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 19 : A minor girl aged 9 years was killed in a hit and run case on the evening of September 18 at around 6:30 in the evening below Tinpatti junction, on the way to Census Office, Kohima. The accident happened when a blue coloured Alto came in full speed and hit the girl while she along with her elder sister were walking by the roadside holding hands. It was informed that a witness who saw the accident tried to stop the car, but the driver sped off towards Naga Bazaar. The victim, identified as Lachoi Phom, a class-III student of Vinyüzo School, Kohima was immediately shifted to Naga Hospital in a critical condition. However, she was declared brought dead. When contacted, police in-charge of North Traffic Control, Kohima said a case has been registered at North Traffic Control in this regard though neither the car nor the driver could be identified at that point of time.
