Jacob Zhimomi flags off BJYM Nagaland’s ‘Seva Jyoti Yatra’ in Chümoukedima as part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.
DIMAPUR — Minister for PHED and Municipal Affairs, Jacob Zhimomi, on Saturday flagged off a two-wheeler rally organised by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) Nagaland under the banner “Seva Jyoti Yatra”.
The rally was organised as part of the ongoing Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, a month-long nationwide public outreach and service campaign marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public service.
The rally was flagged off from the New Showuba four-lane flyover and culminated at Sammogooting Stadium in Chümoukedima.
Speaking at the programme, Zhimomi said the commemoration was being observed across the country through the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, including in various districts of Nagaland.

He expressed satisfaction over the participation of the state BJP unit and the BJYM.
The minister said India had witnessed significant changes in governance and development under Modi’s leadership since 2014.
He said various policies and schemes had been implemented with the stated objective of benefiting different sections of society.

Referring to the principle of Antyodaya, Zhimomi said the government’s approach was aimed at reaching the “last person in the last village”. He also claimed that millions of people had been lifted out of poverty.
Zhimomi said India’s governance model was being studied by other countries and described the country as the world’s largest democracy and the BJP as the world’s largest political party.
On Nagaland, he called for unity, trust and good governance, saying no citizen should be left behind. He said every individual was a stakeholder and urged people to respect and appreciate one another without discrimination.
“People come and go, leaders come and go, and they have to respect the incumbent dispensation. They have to respect the retired leaders of the state.
Everybody should work in social harmony,” he said, adding that this was what the BJP stood for.
Zhimomi further said the programme was intended to go beyond party lines and called for governments to work towards framing and implementing policies in the larger public interest.
