Committee constituted to acknowledge dedicated government servants
Dimapur, July 6 (EMN): Minister for Public Health Engineering department Jacob Zhimomi has suggested a ‘Swachh Bharat in charge’ who will ensure that workplaces in the government establishments are ‘cleaner and healthier.’
The government’s publicity agency, the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR), reported the proceedings of a Dimapur District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting at which the minister gave the suggestion.
The monthly meeting of the Dimapur DPDB for the month of July was conducted in the deputy commissioner’s office on July 5. The meeting was presided over by Zhimomi, who is also the chairman of the board.
Advocating a ‘cleaner and healthier workplace’ in the district, the chairman suggested to all the departments to appoint a ‘Swachh Bharat in-charge.’ The person in said job profile will be responsible for maintaining a ‘cleaner and more hygienic workplace and its surrounding,’ the IPR report of the minister’s statement.
All the members of the board ‘agreed’ to the suggestion, the IPR stated.
Zhimomi also briefed the members of the board about the merger of water-related works with the Jal Shakti ministry which “aims at providing clean drinking water as well as to fight water woes in the country,” the IPR reported.
Further, the minister gave remarks to a presentation stated to have been given by the Land Resources department. Zhimomi suggested organising a media campaign about different schemes and projects “so that targeted section of people are informed and benefited.”
In other matters, the board recommended a number of groups for registration, the IPR informed. Based on recommendations given by a committee that was constituted during a previous meeting of the board, the officials recommended the registration of a group called the Wondering Mind Society, Sematilla.
The board recommended also ‘Capstone Educational Societies, Thilixu village’ for registration, the IPR stated.
The registration of KV Society of Toluvi village also was approved for recommendation after deliberations, the updates stated.
Further, a proposal for grand-in-aid in respect of S Apostolic Mission Residential School at Dimapur and another for the upgrade of the government middle school of Toluvi to a high school were also approved ‘basing on the verification report,’ the IPR informed.
The board also constituted a committee to ‘acknowledge dedicated government servants.’ As suggested by a member of the board in regard to ‘acknowledging dedicated government servants in the district on special occasions,’ the officials constituted a committee led by the deputy commissioner, it was informed.
During the meeting, the department of Land Resources also gave a presentation highlighting its activities and achievements in the district.
Likewise, the Medical department gave a presentation on dengue during which topics of common clinical symptoms, sequence of events, treatments, common breeding sites and the control measures to take were explained, the IPR added in its report.
