Kaito Aye, on Saturday unveiled the foundation stone for construction of road
from Naginimora to Zero Point in Kongan village under Mon district.
The foundation stone was unveiled in the presence of W
Chingang Konyak, advisor of DUDA, Geology and Mining; Rev. Dr. Zelho Keyho,
general secretary of NBCC, and others who were in Kongan village to commemorate
the 75th anniversary of the Kongan Baptist Church platinum jubilee (1919-1921).
Speaking at the unveiling of foundation stone ceremony, Aye
acknowledged the challenges in completing road projects on time and the delays
in central funding. He appreciated the village community's contribution and the
concerned MLA representatives for volunteering to construct roads despite
limited funding.
He encouraged continued support to the government and
assured to apprise the chief minister to prioritise rural areas for good road
connectivity.
Regarding the proposed Naginimora to Zero Point, Kongan
village road, Aye stated that his department would reassess the road's grading
and alignment. He assured to prioritise the road project.
The minister also mentioned that special packages and
activities would commence in ENPO areas and appealed to the people of eastern
Nagaland to appreciate the positive development in the region as well as
promote unity for the progress of Naga society.
Rev. Keyho praised the minister for prioritising rural areas
and also appreciated his commitment and humble leadership. He added that the
presence of minister in the village sent a message of hope to rural people and
future generations, marking a historic ceremony connecting roads for the
people.
Meanwhile, Chingang Konyak highlighted the road's
significance in providing the shortest route and alternative roads for Mon
district, which would benefit the Konyak tribe and other communities. He
requested the minister to prioritise the road project.
Later, addressing the gathering at Kongan Baptist Church
Platinum Jubilee, Aye called upon the churches to introspect and bring
reformation in the society. He questioned whether the Nagas were prepared to
struggle together for years or unite to change society, strengthening church communities
and Naga society through fellowship and gospel.
He further appealed to the church leaders to pray for Naga
unity.
"Don't fight with your shadows; fight with your
enemy," the minister said while emphasising the importance of being true
spiritual warriors to experience real Christian life.
