Dimapur, June 7 (EMN): Minister of Urban Development, Municipal Affairs and Taxes, Metsubo Jamir, has inspected the ongoing works at Kohima Super Market. A press release from the minister’s office informed on Thursday.
Jamir was stated to have talked about the quality of work that should not be compromised. Various issues pertaining to the development of Kohima city were said to have been discussed. Issues discussed included problems of traffic, parking, road, drainage, waste management, crematorium and cleanliness of the city. The minister also mentioned that Kohima needs to show the standards of town management.
The minister encouraged the KMC to adopt more of a proactive role in solving the problems faced by the public. He urged them to work in coordination with the various departments of the state to ensure smooth implementation of all developmental programs.
Further, the minister offered his observation for opening of schools, offices and shops in Kohima at the same time of the day in order to ease the traffic woes of the city. He suggested that changes in the opening times of shops could possibly improve the traffic congestion in the morning rush hour.
