KOHIMA OCTOBER 15
The 54th ‘college win-fest 2015’ of Kohima Science College (autonomous) in Jotsoma, near Kohima town, commenced October 15, with Yitachu, Minister for School Education as the chief guest and Dr I Anungla Aier, Principal of the college as the guest of honor in the college’s auditorium.
Speaking at the programme, Yitachu asserted that ‘unity is missing among the Nagas, and therefore the Nagas are suffering today. While stating that unity as a social issue, he said there cannot be political decision or there cannot be any other resolutions to bring unity, and therefore he maintained the whole Nagas have to come together and live together in unity.
Further making his point, he said that though unity itself is a simple phrase; it carries a lot of meaning, which is very crucial for peace, progress and development of a society. He also pointed that since Naga people don’t have unity, there is no love and concern for each other and people don’t speak the truth to one another. ‘Because of lack of unity even the churches, pastors and reverends refuse to speak the truth’ he stated.‘Let any leadership government fall or party leadership fall, it will have a replacement but a system that runs a government should not fall, because when a system fails everything will collapse and everyone will suffer, and it concerns the younger generation’ said Yitachu.
Challenging the students, he said the youngsters have a great task ahead of them to perform because when present elders fail in their duties and responsibilities, it is upon them to make right the wrong system. He, however pointed out that it would not be an easy task to do away with ‘ism’ but strongly pointed out that a beginning is required to make an attempt and try to live a life free of ‘ism’, only then he said our future is secured.
He further stressed on the need to develop our system, so that the Nagas can survive and progress, and live an honorable and respectable human beings here onward, and to achieve that he said the unity process cannot be stopped which must go beyond the tribal level and bring about Naga unity. ‘That is the only way out’ he added.
Advising the students, he asked them not to forget their Creator adding ‘everything may fail you but God will never fail you’. Later he declared open the 54th Win-Fest 2015 and wish the students all the best and to have a good time.
In the six days the students have been divided into five groups namely Garnet (Orange), Amethyst (Purple), Sapphire (Blue), Tourmaline (Black) and Aventurine (Quartz Green).
