
DIMAPUR — The minister for Housing and Mechanical Engineering, P Beshangmongba Chang, inaugurated the Government Higher Secondary School at Hakushang in Tuensang district on Tuesday.
Addressing the inauguration programme, Chang thanked the Government of Nagaland led by Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, for timely intervention and unwavering concern for the educational advancement of the youth.
He also said the government’s steadfast support has been the key instrument in making the school’s upgrade a reality, a DIPR report stated.
The minister also thanked the advisor of School Education, Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, for his contribution and dedication and for emphasising on quality education in the state. Additionally, he thanked the Chang Wedoshi Setshang (CWS) for their initiative to upgrade the school.
He exhorted the faculty and students of GHSS Hakushang to extend their continuous support to make the school shine. He further reminded the teachers that they are the pillars of the institution and that the future of the students rests in their capable hands.
Earlier, short speeches were delivered by the deputy commissioner of Tuensang, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa; president of CWS, Pongso; chairman of SMDC and president of Chang Khulei Setshang, NY Choba.
The DEO of Tuensang, Nmyamo Jami, delivered the welcome address and the school principal, Imkongsenla Sangtam, proposed vote of thanks.
The programme was chaired by MhathungNgullie, EAC Tuensang.
