
Temjen Imna Along inaugurating the civil service library of
Eduversity in Dimapur on Thursday.
- DIMAPUR — Minister
of Tourism and Higher Education, Temjen Imna Along, inaugurated the Nagaland’s
first civil service library and also launched NPSC E-study portal and NSSB Club
application at Eduversity, Dimapur campus at Duncan Bosti on Thursday.
- Speaking at the inaugural programme as chief guest, Along
informed that there are approximately not less than 30,000 graduates in
Nagaland out of which 99% are aspiring for jobs without going through exams.
- He acknowledged all the student bodies for their far-sighted
vision in strengthening the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) and also
convincing the government to form the Nagaland State Selection Board (NSSB),
where only the meritorious students would become government officials.
- Despite being one of the most literate states in India, he
pointed out that Nagaland still struggles with social issues. Maintaining that
no tribe is superior over the other, he stated that Nagas still struggle with
the issue of tribalism.

- He questioned why Naga people shy away from hard work and
have not embraced discipline, unity and mutual support.
- “Success is not just about wealth, cars or buildings but
true success is measured by contributing towards the growth, progress and
happiness for family, community, society and the nation,” Along said.
- He asserted that there are ways and means of resolving
issues by discussion and reaching out to each other. He added that by working
for each other, problems could be solved and not by serving ultimatum.
- Stating that not everything in the government is corrupt, he
asserted that if people refuse to take money during elections, corruption could
be eliminated. He also reminded everyone that their vote is their right, so
they should use it wisely.
