
Dimapur, Jan. 29 (EMN): Elucidating that around 6000-8000 graduates are produced annually from about 68 colleges in Nagaland, the minister of Mechanical and Housing, Tongpang Ozukum, urged the student community to be truly educated and strive to be the best this competitive world.
Tongpang stated this on the third day of the 50th biennial conference of All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK) in Shena Old Village under Zunheboto district on January 29. Mentioning that the government cannot provide jobs to all the registered unemployed youth, he stated that the only option is to venture out of the state and compete with others.
Terming the Sumi tribe as a warrior tribe, Tongpang urged the youth to be united and be the warriors of peace and unity among the Nagas. He also advised the students not to forget their culture, tradition, people and village where they go and to always remember where they belong.
Meanwhile, Tongpang has assured to take the issue of bad road condition in the entire Shena Old Village and its surrounding villages connecting Atoizu sub-division and further committed to provide all machineries and help for the road construction.
The theme speaker and retired director of Health and Family Welfare (dental), Dr. Hotokhu Chishi, spoke on "Thukuwulo kileghi chewuni" (Fostering equitable progress).
President of Naga Students’ Federation (NSF), Kegwayhun Tep, and the president of Ao Students’ Conference (AKM), Nungdokyanger, shared greetings on the occasion.
