Dimapur, Nov. 27 (EMN): The Mimi Circle Joint Council protested what they stated was a survey in a disputed area on November 27 at Tizu River in Kiphire district.
A note from the council that was issued to the media on Wednesday mentioned the ‘IWAI’ and ‘WAPCOS survey’ at Tizu-Zungki River.
‘The protest was held because the survey area falls under the dispute area between Mimi Circle Joint Council and Laluri Developmental Council. The charter of demand was submitted to the extra assistant commissioner of Pungro addressed to the deputy commissioner of Kiphire,’ the note stated.
‘One of the demands includes requesting the government to take stakeholders on board for any developmental activities in the said area in the near future to avoid any complication.’
