The District AIDS Prevention and Control unit (DAPCU) and the National Health Mission at Dimapur conducted the training programme, updates stated on Sunday. According to the information, Chief Medical Officer Dr. K Vikato Kinimi addressed the event. He said Dimapur is one of the ‘highest prevalence’ districts in Nagaland. He urged the health workers to be acquainted with the knowledge of HIV/AIDS and Syphilis and to start testing patients so that people will come to know about their health status. The resource persons were Orenthung of the DAPCU who spoke about the basics of HIV and Syphilis; Dr. Kavito Zhimomi spoke about programme guidelines, among others; Mecievinuo of the DAPCU spoke about counselling on HIV, and Temsuyanger Aier of the DAPCU spoke about maintaining data and reporting at the sub-centre level, the updates stated.
