Dimapur, Dec. 11 (EMN): The 45th sports meet of Middle Khomi Youth Organisation (MKYO) got underway at the newly constructed local ground of Middle Khomi under Phek district with MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu as the special guest on Tue. Dec. 11.
Azo in his speech said that the need of the hour today is to have a comprehensive state sports policy for all discipline in order to take the talented sportspersons forward.
“Government needs to give more importance for promotion of sports and invest more funds towards sports activities in the state,” Azo urged.
Also speaking on the occasion, MLA Kezhienyi Khalo called upon the participants to exhibit their best skills and improve further.
He thanked Azo for always standing tall towards the welfare and progress of the Chakhesang community.
Earlier, welcome address was delivered by MKYO president Zalezo Vero while MKYO sports secretary Verayi Tenenu administered oath to the five participating teams.
The meet will conclude on Dec. 15.
