Middle Khomi village in Phek hosted Reform Utsav under the People’s Plan Campaign, bringing departments and residents together to discuss local development needs, government schemes and grassroots planning.

KOHIMA —Middle Khomi village in Phek district on Thursday witnessed the launch of Reform Utsav, integrated with the People’s Plan Campaign, “Sabki Yojana, Sabka Vikas,” with a focus on strengthening participatory planning and grassroots development.
The programme, held at the Village Council Hall, brought together government departments and the local community to facilitate direct interaction on development needs, government schemes and services.
According to an update, Phek Deputy Commissioner Rhosietho Ngouri, attended the programme as the special guest, in the presence of Project Director, DRDA Phek, Zhoi Lohe whith EAC Phek (Hq) Mechietsho Koza, chairing the programme.
The Reform Utsav sought to bring development planning closer to the people by providing a platform for the community to identify local needs and priorities and learn about various government schemes and services.
It also emphasised convergence among departmental programmes for more effective and inclusive development.
Representatives from various departments made PowerPoint presentations on government schemes, welfare programmes, livelihood opportunities, essential services, skill development initiatives, infrastructure and other development interventions.
The departments included the District Agriculture Office, District Horticulture Office, DRDA, DMMU, NSRLM Phek, Chief Medical Office, PHED, Power Department, District Welfare Office, District Programme Office (ICDS), District Land Records and Survey Office and ITI, Phek.
The presentations also provided information on eligibility criteria and procedures for accessing various government programmes.
An interactive session involving village council members, community representatives and the public followed the presentations.
The session enabled discussions on local development priorities and the possible convergence of departmental schemes to address the needs of the village.
Earlier, the welcome address was delibered by Vekhrolo Koza, APO, DRDA Phek.
The programme concluded with a tree plantation drive involving the special guest, chairperson, departmental officials, village council members and community representatives, symbolising a collective commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable development.
