DIMAPUR — The Middle Khomi Health and Wellness Centre (HWC) sub-centre in Phek district underwent an external quality assessment on August 25 for National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certification.
An update from the office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Phek, stated that the assessment was carried out by Dr. Bishwajeet Ramanand and Rijumoni Barman as external assessors. The external team evaluated the health centre on seven package services under the NQAS guidelines and standards.
It stated that the assessment would help to determine readiness for NQAS certification and identifies areas for quality improvement.

The assessors were accompanied by Dr. Imnanoktsung Longchar, DGM Kohima, and Vethipralu, SPM, as facilitators.
During the short introductory programme, Zuhuvelu Chizo, community health officer at HWC-SC Middle Khomi, presented a brief profile of the health unit, while the welcome address was delivered by Dr. Chgukhusie, deputy CMO, Phek.
It further stated that the assessors have shared their findings and feed backs. The assessment was attended by Dr. Chitale Hiese, CMO Phek; district officials; village council members and staff of Khomi HWC-SC.
