Dimapur, Nov. 21 (EMN): The ministry of Human Resource Development has launched a programme called the ‘Bhasha Sangam,’ which “marks the appreciation of the unique symphony of languages of our country,” to be undertaken throughout the country from Nov. 20 to the 21st.
The School Education department issued a press release on Wednesday informing about the programme. The Bhasha Sangam will provide an opportunity to schools and educational institutions to afford multilingual exposure to students in 22 Indian languages, the updates stated. The purpose is to familiarize every child with simple dialogues in all the 22 languages under schedule VIII of the constitution of India, enhance linguistic tolerance and promote national integration.
In this regard, the ministry has published a booklet that contains five commonly used simple sentences in all the 22 languages, the School Education department stated. A set of five activities has been prescribed to be carried out at the schools, the department of School Education stated. The ‘best schools, the best blocks, the best districts and the best states/UTs will be awarded ‘on the basis of the uploaded/submitted photographs and videos, as per the instructions in the booklet,’ the press release stated.
