MHA Internal Security Advisor shot at in Imphal

Internal Security Advisor of Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Dr Ch Monoranjan has been shot and injured in a gun attack last night at his official quarter here in Langol Game Village, according to police reports. An unspecified number of unknown gunmen shot him around 9:45 pm. A bullet hit his right arm in the attack. Dr Monoranjan has been admitted to Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal after the attack. He was stated to be out of danger. Dr Monoranjan, 52, is a resident of Pishum in Imphal West. He is currently staying with his family at The Government allotted Type-III Quarter, Langol Game Village. No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack on Dr Monoranjan.
