Dimapur, Nov. 10 (EMN): Mar Gregorios Orthodox Syrian (MGOS) Church located at Midland, Dimapur, celebrated 117th remembrance feast of St. Gregorios of Parumala, its patron saint, on November 9 and 10.
On November 9, there was an evening prayer at 5 pm followed by spiritual discourse by Rev Fr. Dr. PS Varghese, vicar of MGOS Church, Dimapur, stated a press release issued by the church on Sunday.
On November 10, the service began with morning prayer at 8 am followed by Holy Qurbana.
After the holy mass, a public meeting was organised, where the 2019 toppers of MGM Higher Secondary School namely Suhana Begum, 1st rank holder in Commerce stream; Shingke, 2nd rank holder in Arts stream; and Kajol Panika, school topper in HSLC, were felicitated with cash prizes and Mar Theodosius meritorious award.
The main highlights of the programme included song and speech presentations by Dimapur and Kohima Sunday school students, MGM hostellers and neighbourhood hostellers. The felicitation address was delivered by Rev. Fr. Gemcy Eappen, vicar and in-charge of Kohima congregation. Gifts were distributed to students of Dimapur and Kohima Sunday school students, MGM hostellers and to the neighbourhood hostellers.
The programme concluded with auction, love feast and lowering of the flag. Members of Malayali community from several interior places like Jorhat, Tinsukia, Kohima and various parts of Nagaland attended the feast.
