
DIMAPUR — A one-day training for the mentors of the children’s parliament under Wokha district was organised by the Children’s Parliament Initiative ll under the aegis of the Development Association of Nagaland (DAN) on Friday at Libemo Memorial Higher Secondary School, Wokha.
Amenla Longkumer, clinical psychologist from the district mental health programme, spoke at the event about 'mental health and psychosocial support for children.'
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]She encouraged the mentors to take care of their mental health before it leads to mental illness and mentioned the signs and symptoms of mental illness and the good habits one can practise to avoid mental illness.
Jiji Joseph, senior programme officer at DAN, educated the mentors on the roles and responsibilities of a mentor as well as strategies for enhancing children's parliament.
Ten mentors from different schools and communities in the Wokha district attended the training programme.
