Men's Open Basketball Trophy: Arintin Ventures, Orca, Taurus and Netters 'A' enter semis

Arintin Ventures, Orca, Taurus and Netters 'A' have stormed into the semi-finals of the ongoing Men's Open Basketball Trophy on Thursday at Oriental College Kohima.

Playing the first quarter-final match, Arintin Ventures edged out Griffins with a margin of 69 - 59 while Orca defeated Don Bosco College 80 - 70 in the subsequent match to register their berths for the semifinals.

Taurus beat Ravens 77 - 49 to register their semifinal berth while Netters 'A' drubbed Sazolie College of 94 - 25 in the last quarter-final match of the day.

On Friday, Arintin Ventures will clash with Orca at 9:30 am in the first semi-final match while Taurus will lock horns with Netters 'A' 10:30 am in the second semi-final match.

After the women basketball exhibition match at 11:30 am, the grand finale will be played between the winners of first semifinal and second semi-final matches, followed by the closing ceremony.

The champion team will receive a cash award of INR 50,000 which has been enhanced from the previous amount of INR 40,000.

The runner-up team will receive INR 30,000 while most valuable player (MVP) will pocket INR 5,000.

The tournament is organised as part of the silver jubilee celebration of Oriental College Kohima.
