Two time champions, Nagaland Police living upto the expectation defeated Kohima Bible College by a huge seven goals to nil with a double hat-trick while Mele Football Club, Hurricane Boys, Brotherly Club on the third day of the 20th Classic Cup at Kohima Local Ground.
Playing the first match, Mele Football Club defeated Vanguard FC by 5-1 with Nungsang scoring the first three goals to become the second hat-trick of the tourney. Beei and Shillem netted the fourth and fifth goal. The face-saver for Vanguard FC was netted by Neipuseizo Nagi.
The second match of the day was closely fought between Hurricane Boys and Tsosinyu United FC as the stipulated 70 minutes ended in 1-1 draw. The tie-breaker favoured Hurricane as they netted all five shots while Tosinyu managed only three.
Brotherly Club won over New Market-B by 3-0 in the third match. Vitsielie Kense scored first while Kevibou Kense found the remaining two goals.
Playing the last match of the day, Champions of 2009 and 2010, Nagaland Police thrashed Kohima Bible College by seven goals to nil setting the record of highest win of the tournament with two of cops scoring hat-trick. Limakumzuk and Lipok scored the third and fourth hat-trick of the tournament. Lima scored first, second and fourth goal followed by Lipok’s third, sixth and seventh while Sakutemjen managed one as the fifth goal.
