Dimapur, April 11 (EMN): Melak house defeated Japfu house to claim the inter-house junior volleyball championship which was held at Sainik School Punglwa from April 5 to 9.
The matches were played on a league cum knockout system on the basis of best of three sets.
After well fought matches played between six mother houses, Melak house and Japfu house qualified for the final. In a nail biting final match, Melak house defeated Japfu house by 2 sets to 1 set.
Rishabh Raj, skipper of Melak house, with his consistent performance throughout the championship led his team to victory over Japfu house. He was also adjudged the best player of the championship.
Lt. Col. Kiran Meitei, officiating school principal and chief guest, gave away the certificates and medals to the winners. He also congratulated the winning team and complimented other participating teams for putting up good fight.
