Meghalaya CM set agenda for digital Northeast

Dimapur, Aug. 11 (EMN): Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma today pushed the agenda of digital transformation at the historic launch of Digital Northeast 2022 in Guwahati. According to a press release from the chief minister office, Sangma said that the state government has approved an amount of INR 35 crore for construction of Phase-I of the Shillong Tech Park Building. This building is located at the sprawling 80 Acres Tech Park campus in New Shillong Township. He said that the state is making life easier for its citizens while accessing government services and to increase transparency, the state government has implemented numerous e-services initiatives. “I am happy to inform that the e-District Mission Mode Project alone with 9 services on offer to citizens, has been able to digitally process more that 1.5 lakh applications and issue end-to-end electronic certificates to our citizens”. He also urged the central government to expedite the implementation of the “Comprehensive Telecom Development Plan” and the “BharatNet” projects so that the citizens of Meghalaya can have equitable access to reliable and high quality connectivity.
