Kohima DC convenes March 30 meeting to elect Kohima Municipal Council chairperson and deputy, following state government approval for polls.

DIMAPUR — Following state government approval, Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, B Henok Buchem, has convened a meeting on March 30 to conduct elections for the posts of chairperson and deputy chairperson of the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC).
The meeting will be held at 2 pm in the DC’s office chamber. The DC stated that the meeting is being convened in exercise of powers under relevant sections of the Nagaland Municipal Act, 2023, and has directed all elected councillors of KMC to attend it.
He added that provisions relating to quorum under the Act will be applicable during the proceedings.
