Kohima, May 22 (EMN): Medical XI defeated Morung United by a narrow margin of 4-3 goals at Kohima local ground on Monday morning.
With the win, Medical XI temporarily leapfrogged Power Comm to second place with 25 points of the Morning Premier table and a point above Power Comm who has a game in hand with Morning FC on Thursday.
Kekhrie's brace for Medical XI proved to be the decisive factor as they retained the lead till the last minute.
During the match, Neiphre (5 minute) and Longai (8 minute) found the net for Medical XI, however Zabhi scored a brace for Morung United in the 9th and 10th minute to equalise the scoreline.
Kekhrie with his brilliance scored a goal in 17th minute, despite Lithung converting a penalty in 35th minute, Kekhrie doubled his tally in the 38th minute to make it 4-3 for Medical XI.
The second half saw a scoreless side as both teams failed to find the net and Medical XI stole the three points.
During the match, Neiphre of Medical XI and Lithung of Morung United were awarded a yellow card each.
