DIMAPUR — A one-day district-level training on routine immunisation micro-plan and routine immunisation strengthening was conducted at the Chief Medical Officer’s conference hall in Longleng on Tuesday.
Dr. Imtijungshi Aier, District Immunisation Officer, delivered the welcome address and highlighted the objectives of the training.
According to an update, he reviewed the current status of routine immunisation in Longleng with the Health Management Information System and Routine Immunisation micro-plan issues and measles and rubella elimination health unit-wise within the district.
More than 40 participants, comprising medical officers, district programme manager, vaccine cold chain manager, block programme manager, district community mobiliser, block Asha coordinators, Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram staff, community health officers, nurses, and DEOs from all health units under Longleng, attended and participated in the day-long training.
The training consisted of various topics on routine immunisation micro-plan formats, improved and inclusive micro-planning, roles and responsibilities of health workers and community health officers, and conducting quality head count surveys.
It also covered supportive supervision and monitoring; MR elimination and high-risk areas; NIS, eVIN and UWIN; cold chain and logistics management; safe injection practices and waste disposal; Adverse Events Following Immunisation (AEFI) and management of anaphylaxis; conducting RI sessions; communication plans for RI; Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) surveillance; records; reports; and using data for action.
The facilitators for the training were Dr. Imtijungshi Aier, DPO (UIP/RCH); Dr. Banglay, Medical Officer of Yongnyah PHC; Dr. Moingan, Medical Officer of Tamlu CHC; and Christina, Vaccine Cold Chain Manager.
